Persons interested in Astrology often follow the weekly horoscopes found in newspapers to help them plan their lives. This "planning" can reach the state where they will not do anything without consulting a professional astrologer. A true believer in Astrology will have a professional astrologist prepare a chart with the ruling planet influence noted. If the planet is Venus for example, and the person involved is having problems in his or her love life, then the purchase of an appropriate talisman or amulet may be necessary to help ward off any negative forces that may be noted by the astrologer who prepares the chart.

Many people think that the study of Astrology is a waste of time. Many others, however, will not even leave their homes without first consulting their horoscope. It may be considered "snake oil" to some but to others, this is a serious and important part of their lives.
